Description:

The Thunderbird Marching Band is hiring two (2) positions — a Photographer and a Videographer — to capture rehearsals, performances, and events throughout the fall 2026 season.

  • Sept 19 Saturday NEBO Tournament of Bands 9:00 PM Exhibition
  • Sept 26 Saturday vs. Idaho State — Cedar City 6:00 PM HOME
  • Oct 3 Saturday @ Utah Tech 6:00 PM AWAY
  • Oct 17 Saturday vs. UC Davis — Cedar City 6:00 PM HOME
  • Oct 31 Saturday vs. Northern Arizona — Cedar City 1:00 PM HOME
  • Nov 6 Friday UMEA State Marching Championship 10:00 PM Exhibition
  • Nov 7 Saturday vs. Univ. of Northern Colorado — Cedar City 1:00 PM HOME
  • Nov 21 Saturday vs. Chicago State — Cedar City 12:00 PM HOME
  • (a few basketball games in November and December)

  • Spring Dates will coincide with Music Department Calendar, but will include
  • January 8-9 Honor Band Festival
  • February 20 Jazz Festival
  • March 25-27 Wind Symphony Tour
  • a handful of other concerts and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Capture high-quality photo and/or video content at all scheduled band events (see schedule below).
  • Deliver edited content in a timely manner for use in band promotion, social media, and archival records & Google Drive.
  • Coordinate with band staff on shot lists and priority moments (halftime shows, drum majors, featured soloists, etc.).
  • Maintain and safely operate personal equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in event, sports, or performing arts photography/videography
  • All transportation provided to away games and exhibitions
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends per the schedule above
  • Own equipment preferred; some equipment may be available through the department
